Blood Oath (Darkest Drae, #1)

Dark Fantasy. Dragons. Intrigue. Romance. More than anything, I crave adventure. But in the disease ridden land of Verald, life is mapped out much like the well-established rings of our kingdom. At the very heart reigns our vicious king and Lord Irrik, an invincible dragon shifter, at his side. Their power poisons the land and the people, leading to a steadily mounting number of enemies. But change is coming. When the rebellion surges, the king ...

Hmmmm. So I definitely will continue with the series, but this book is a hard 3 and an extra star for the cover. So many things were wrong with this story, the characters development and growth. The plot and world building and the actual emotional roller coaster it could have been. But the premise and intent was great, just missed on execution. The MC is ridiculous and impulsive. The naive and immature just got old fast. Don’t get me wrong, I di...

★4 Stars! Blood Oath ...An Intense, enthralling, consuming, refreshing and thrilling read that will leave you emotionally invested and wanting more! “Fire licked where our skin touched, the warmth spreading from where his hand tangled in my hair, sending tendrils of pulsing energy all over until I felt like I was crawling out of my skin.”

To see more reviews, considering taking a peek at my first in series YA book blog hereBlood Oath is a devastating new release written in tandem by Raye Wagner and Kelly St. Claire. It is a must read for fantasy lovers who are looking for intricate characters, a bit of romance, and plot twists of the most delicious kind. I was blessed with an ARC of this precious, and not gonna lie, I went in expecting one thing and got something completely differ...

In the interest of full disclosure, for the past month I have been oscillating between fever, cold, sinus infection, and right back to being feverish again so I may have actually hallucinated how amazing this book is. However, I can claim that to my addled mind, this book was done really really well despite my skepticism, I thoroughly enjoyed it.Theme Song for Blood Oath: Change by RM and Walehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rAyp...Blood Oath is ...

...It took me a bit to really get into this story and I almost didn’t finish, but I’m so glad I did. The heroine is a happy sheltered girl who is thrown into a world she didn’t know could exist. This book is dark in that it deals with death and torture. During the worst moments of her life she finds love but even that gets ripped away from her. I’m looking forward to book 2

I wasn't sure going into this book but I must say it was so good. If you are a fan of dark paranormal than I highly recommend that you give this book a try. When reading this book you can actually feel the soul aching pain of the H and h.The only disappointment is the waiting for the next book..

Dark Urban Fantasy RomanceAlready familiar with the work of both Raye Wagner and Kelly St. Clare, Blood Oath went beyond my high expectations! Considering the humble and innocent beginnings for the main protagonist, I wasn't expecting the dark and gritty atmosphere, nor torture as subject material. The horror elements mixed with the potential for romantic entanglements, and the surprising twist at the end, makes Blood Oath an edge-of-your-seat re...

4.5-75 Twisted Drae Stars! [One POV -First Person] (may be spoilers)Yes! Yes! Yes! These authors know what they are doing. This was a total enraptured and eagerly page turner for me. After so many failed attempts at picking up books that I thought would be high rating... Thinking all is lost. I have found a gem in Blood Oath. Just to be clear here people. The blurb does not do it justice and DOESN'T state how dark this read is. I was really taken...

As far as fantasy goes, this one was interesting. It’s set in the midst of some brutal circumstances, but the romance was woven in very sweetly. There were some great reveals that I wasn’t expecting.Content:Language: noneSex: noneViolence: a fair amount. There’s torture, but only some scenes are vivid. Comparable to Hunger Games violence. I wouldn’t give this to my twelve year old.

All I can say is, thank goodness for small or self publishers who don't wait a year in between books, because I might actually die.Truthfully, this is more like 3.5 stars. This was a book you don't put down. I think just about everyone in the ARC group finished it in less than a day, myself included. This was a book that sucked you in, made you laugh, sometimes cringe in horror, definitely intrigued you, but there was some room for improvement. I...

Drak! That was a good book. I already loved both authors' previous novels, so I knew I'd enjoy their writing and it didn't let me down. It did, however, surprise me. Blood Oath was much darker than any of their prior books, but just as enthralling. Ryn was a strong lead character and the entire book was written in her narrative. There was a twist that surprised me and another twist that did not, but I could NOT put the book down until I was finis...

I am not a big YA genre fan. I like my books with adults, not babies trying to find themselves in the big bad world. Though, the MC was a bit dramatic with her ”I need my mommy to tuck me in despite me being 17” and the ”I couldn’t put my feet on the ground because Lord Irrik lives under my bed.”, I quite enjoyed this book. It was different, the realm, the story line, all of it was a new kind of read for me. The MC might have started ou...

PotentialI wanted to love this book but i just couldn't. I didn't hate it but i didn't love it. If just felt as if the story didn't reach it's full peak. The great thing is that you can't tell it's a collab. My main issue w this book was the main character. She was annoying as hell. She acted first and sometimes thought later. The ending of this book came as no surprise to anyone but her. You figured out what was going on half way through the boo...

Cover? B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. Premise? E.P.I.C. Story? It just felt so... sterile. If it's your genre, by all means enjoy. But don't let the cover cause your expectations to rise too high.

Eeeeek, have just read this book in one sitting and O.M.G I freaking loved it! I'm already a fan of both of these authors books and have devoured everything they've ever written so for them to write a book together is like heaven to my mind! It's really well written too and you wouldn't know that this was a co-authored book.I found this book really easy to get into, but do need to warn that it is quite dark in places. The story line is multilayer...

The Darkest Drae is absolutely ridiculous, and not in a good way. Sadly, it reads like a 12 year old writing fanfiction rather then anything worth being published; which sorry to say is probably the reason it's listed on Amazon unlimited rather then by its own merits (Sorry amazon unlimited, there are actually some good authors on there if you can manage to wade through this mess). Believe it or not by summary alone it has everything I could poss...

Holy crap that was amazingI thought this was gonna be some cheesy romance thing. Jesus, I've never been more wrong about a book. These two women created a rich world full of grain, stone, and pain that I never expected. I could not stop reading, literally. Ryn's experiences and feelings are deep and the darkly mysterious Irrik has motives behind his actions that keep you guessing until the end. I do feel smug about guessing a connection between I...

I absolutely loved this book and once I started it was painful to put it down. I was surprised at how dark it was but yet it was actually kind of refreshing on the other hand. I saw the big twist coming early on mainly out of just hoping and convincing myself it had to be true, knowing I would be devastated if I was wrong and wishing for something that wasn’t lol. However, I didn’t expect how things played out in the end. There are still a lo...

It took me a bit to really get into this story and I almost didn’t finish, but I’m so glad I did. There is a lot of character growth just in this first book too for the main heroine Ryn, she goes through a lot but does not spend too much time moping about it, she's a character who grows in strength and I really can't wait to see how she deals with everything in the next book.Irrik was a tortured soul. I felt heavily for him and the choices he ...

I really enjoyed this book. Ryn proved to be such a strong character and I loved following her prove that over and over again. Irrick was one of those heroes you loved to hate. The glimpses of good in him were sprinkled throughout the story and had me hoping that in the end, he was going to be the person I was hoping him to be. Another great KU find. Have book two, Shadow Wings, pre-ordered and ready for it's 2/8 release.

5 flaming stars + 5 Extra!Holy pancakes! I never know what to expect when reading an author(s) for the first time. I just knew Raye Wagner was a wonderful woman and that Blood Oath sounded fun. Right, trying freakin' fantastic! This tale was a nail biter and one that consumed me through every twist and turn of events. Things aren't easy for Ryn and Irrik--it gets pretty horrific at times. I loved the dark aspects and how there were no easy ways o...

Not for the faint of heart as the heroine is abused multiple times. The Hero is an asshole for the majority of the book and at one point I actually started to wonder who the actual Hero and who her love interest was supposed to be. The twist regarding the hero wasn’t completely unexpected BUT the extent of it was. The twist with the heroine was def interesting. Overall not a bad book and I’ll def be reading the rest of the series 😀👍🏻
