I hate to play favorites, but in this case, I don't feel like I have a choice. In my humble opinion, this is Elin Hilderbrand's best work yet. Combining her signature backdrop, riveting cast of characters and penchant for teasing the craveable local fare with the suspense of a murder mystery—you better believe, I soaked up every moment in the Nantucket sun. This year, Elin Hilderbrand lures readers back to the picturesque Nantucket island wit...

Ahhhhh Nantucket in the summer is bliss! It is a lovely place to vacation. It also serves as the perfect place for a wedding, the beach and a murder! The Otis-Winbury is going to be one to remember! The groom's family has arranged for the wedding to be the event of the season. A wedding that people will be talking about for years to come! And it will be remembered but not for the reasons they want it to be. In the early morning hours on the day o...

4 perfect beach read stars to The Perfect Couple! 🏝 🏝 🏝 🏝 I discovered Elin Hilderbrand a couple years ago, well after she was proclaimed the queen of beach reads. While her books may be “beachy” (i.e., set on Nantucket), they are well-written and full of depth. The Perfect Couple is Hilderbrand’s first foray into murder mystery writing and also incorporates some beloved characters from her past books.Wedding season is synonymou...

I loved this book!!!!!The Perfect Couple begins with a celebration proceeding a wedding the next day. The maid of honor is discovered the next day, dead. The police is called to investigate whether there was foul play. What they learn is that the privileged in their sleepy town of Nantucket, have secrets. There are many potential suspects and motives and I have to admit, by 98% into the story, I still hadn't figured it out. But by the time I got t...

2 Stars Slated as this years must have summer beach read I went into this novel not expecting to be intellectually stimulated. Obviously this was going to be light and easy read, but there's nothing wrong with switching off your brain and delving into something easy, breezy (mentally trying to stop myself from saying cover girl but I can't) if at least it's fun. This novel was fun for the first 30% then it got boring, and then it got long and wh...

Fantastic story! It captivated me from page 1 followed by SO SO many secrets and SO SO many twists. I didn't know which character to suspect. Her characters were complicated and imperfect (despite their wealth). They were also brought to life and made you care about them (well some of them). Loved this new genre Elin wrote and I'm ready for more! What’s not to love: beautiful Nantucket, wealth, scandal, love, lies, and a dead body. 4.5★s!

The Queen of the "Beach Read" is holding onto that crown for one more year!!!!!The Perfect Couple has something I always love from an Elin Hilderbrand book - nods to characters from her old books. My two favorite books of hers are The Castaways and The Blue Bistro and this one has tons of characters from The Castaways!!!! (Note - you do not need to have read that one to enjoy this one!) A wedding is happening on Nantucket, but on the morning of, ...

Compelling, mysterious, and deliciously entertaining! The Perfect Couple takes us to the beautiful island of Nantucket and into the lives of the rich and famous Winburys as they gather to celebrate a family wedding. But like most families with privilege, power, and money everything is not always as it seems and it quickly becomes apparent that behind the beautiful mansion and designer clothes is an abundance of secrets, deception, betrayal, infide...

Whew! This was one twisty, turvy murder mystery/beach read where I swear I did not have the slightest idea whodunit until we got to the last page. Bravo, Elin Hildebrand! The theme here is relationships and secrets, and boy do these relationships have a ton! It was like every soap opera you’ve ever watched on steroids, while on the beach, wrapped up in a not the least bit gory murder mystery (for those like me who are easily grossed out) that i...

I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll repeat myself every single summer, but summer doesn’t officially start for me until I’ve read the latest Elin Hilderbrand novel. While I have several authors on my summer must read list every year, hers are the books I look forward to the most, she really is the queen of the beach read and The Perfect Couple is her best book yet! While Hilderbrand’s books definitely aren’t always sunshine and coc...

There were so many things I disliked about this book. I've never read anything else by this author but she doesn't seem to be a mystery writer. The police procedure seemed extremely shaky. The cops spend one entire day "investigating" before giving up. This was women's fiction. Is the author being paid for product placements? There were an awful lot of brand names mentioned. I hated all of the characters, including the victim. The book hops back ...

The best book of the summer! Why I loved it: The setting of Nantucket is impeccably described. I could smell the salty sea air, I could taste the lobster rolls and I could hear the wave tides coming in. I loved the cast of characters. They are a motley crew of loveable and hateable characters, people I could picture being friends with and others I wanted to shove. They were introduced quickly but the fact that you get to read various points of vi...

1.5 STARS This review pains me to write. I’m normally a fan of Elin Hilderbrand. On the morning of Benji and Celeste’s lavish Nantucket wedding, the maid of honor is found dead, likely killed by someone involved with the nuptials. The investigation shows most everyone hiding secrets that may or may not be motive for murder.I thought THE PERFECT COUPLE was going to be one of my favorite Elin Hilderbrand books, but it turned out to be my least f...

Wow! What a great whodunit filled with secrets and mystery! The Perfect Couple is the story of a ritzy wedding on Nantucket where the maid of honor is found dead the day of the wedding. As I learned more about each character and their possible motives, my mind raced through several different scenarios. Elin Hilderbrand writes the best beach reads and this one is up there on my favorites list!!

Thanks to the publisher for this free review copy!*Beach - CHECK. Swanky Nantucket estate - CHECK. Wedding - CHECK. Fascinating characters - CHECK. (Light) murder mystery - CHECK. Seriously, just trust me on this one and throw this in your bag for any beach/pool trip or vacation you're taking this summer ~ it's so fun and I did NOT figure out the mystery until it was revealed!

Amazing. Such a page turner. I loved it and couldn't put it down. With these ARCs, I do know that I'm spoiling my summer reading experience by not having an Elin book to devour out on the lake but I can't help it. I'll read every word she writes as long as she keeps writing. The Perfect Couple was the perfect blend of family secrets, murder mystery and the perfect Nantucket setting. You could picture every scene, every room in Summerland. In this...

Somehow, Elin Hilderbrand has written her best book yet. (It's difficult to say what's a "best" book out of two dozen incredible novels, but this is right up there at the top.) Along with the things you've come to expect from Elin: gorgeous setting, sumptuous descriptions, complex and misbehaving characters -- she throws in a murder mystery. We also get some recurring characters from one of my other favs of hers, The Castaways. THE PERFECT COUPLE...

What a fantastically sad ending!! Not a crying one, but one that really kicks you in the gut because of some characters actions to what they thought was a problem that wasn't going to be a problem at all.Wow, so many suspects. Or may there were just one or two or many unknowingly helping in the demise of the victim. Or may there was just one attempt at murder that got the wrong victim. Or maybe it was just an accident after all. These are just so...

3.25 stars. This book didn’t sound like a-n-y-t-h-I-n-g I’d want to read. I’m so over Nantucket/Martha’s vineyard backdrops and stories about crazy rich/desperate housewives/privileged alpha males... aaaand I thought if I’d read another wedding-murder book I’d kill someone... but when a friend updated she was enjoying this book I decided to go for it and read “what’s trending” for. Sucked me in... so much so that it took my sist...

The Perfect CoupleByElin HildebrandWhat it's all about...First of all...these books are all about Nantucket. I want to go to Bartlett’s Farm and get tomatoes and Portuguese bread for a toasted tomato sandwich. I want the crab shrimp scallops burger with watermelon limeade from Surfside Beach Shack. I want the Lola burger and fries that handsome Nick the Greek ate on his way to interview the bride...Celeste. I want the $10.00 passion fruit water...

When love is just out of reach, what lengths will one take to have it back again? This is the question for many of the characters in Elin Hilderbrand's newest work that shows two's company and three's a crowd. It all began July 7th, 2018 and shifting through time back to two years prior to set up the plot.Summer is a time of fun, enjoyment, and yes, weddings in Nantucket and of course, every summer the summer folks arrive to stake claim to the fun ...

For all of my reviews: www.readingbetweenthepagesblog.wordpr...As an Elin Hilderbrand newbie, I picked a fantastic book to get my feet wet!Can you imagine what it would be like to find your best friend, your maid of honor, dead on your wedding day? Wow! I cannot even imagine how horrible that would be. This very unimaginable event is the premise of this story.Celeste and Benji are getting married on the beautiful island of Nantucket. You know summer isn't too far away when a new Elin Hilderbrand book is coming out. Although this book focuses on a wedding being held on Nantucket it is not your typical love story. Hours before Celeste and Benji are to be married in an extravagant affair, the body of the maid of honor is found floating in the bay. Was it an accident? Was it murder? That's exactly what the Chief of Police is trying to find out. This book is told with alternating ...

4.5 Stars for this mystery beach read by Elin Hilderbrand. Once again Elin Hilderbrand takes us back to beautiful Nantucket island. It is the wedding of the year with Benji Winbury and Celeste Otis tying the know. All is not well when the nuptials are cancelled on the day of the wedding. Celeste wakes on the morning of her special day to find her only friend and maid of honor, Merritt, floating along the shore of her in-law’s Summerland compoun...

The perfect mix of wealth, scandal, lies, love, and a dead body... found on the beautiful Nantucket beaches, with which Hilderbrand has built her brand. This was a 24 hour read for me- an intriguing (not brain busting), unique, and light “who dunnit” for summer 2018. If you enjoy her other books, you will absolutely love this! If you haven’t had the pleasure, this is a great one to test the waters. Looking forward to Winter In Paradise, com...

I typically love Elim Hilderbrand’s novel, but this one was just okay.I found it challenging to connect with any of the characters. Celeste and Benji seemed like such a perfect couple, but there were small nuances that irritated me with each character. My biggest disappointment in this book is the ending. I won’t spoil it for anyone, but I wanted more. Everything just seemed to wrap up too neat and tidy.If you’re looking for a quick beach r...

Expertly crafted. Elin brings you right to the edge, so that every character is suspect, everyone has a motive. The novel begins with the discovery of the body of the maid-of-honor on a private beach by the bride, the morning of the wedding. From this point we are taken on the investigation that covers the entire book to the very end, where I guarantee, you will never guess what actually happened. I tried, all through out this page-turner, and fai...

I adore Hilderbrand’s books. This is definitely in my top five favorites of hers. I seriously hope there is a sequel to this one. I need to know more about what happens to Celeste. I am now craving lobster and want to purchase a pair of Nantucket reds. I would love to visit Nantucket one day but if I am not able to I love doing so vicariously through Hilderbrand’s wonderful books.Netgalley provided me an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

A wonderful summer beach read! The Perfect Couple is one of Elin Hildebrand's best."The moment their eyes meet, the moment their hands touch. That certainty. That recognition. You. You are the one. This is what it feels like. Nothing, as it turns out, can take place of love.""The bread has been toasted golden brown, the slices of tomato are thick and juicy, seasoned with sea salt and freshly ground pepper, and there is exactly the right amount of...
